بلاد بعيدة

زادو معاه، خارج من الباب
ودّع ناسو، ودّع الأحباب
فارس كامل، أسمر و شباب

سمع باللّي بلاد بعيدة
متخبّية وراء الأبحار
قالو النّاس، فيها صبيّة
عليها زين، سرّ و خنّار
قصد طريقه، عزم النيّة
ما يروّح كان بكحلة الأشفار

بلاد بعيدة وطريق طويل
بحّر في فلايك و ركب الخيل
لا يرقد لا نهار و لا ليل

وحدو مسافر لبلاد بعيدة
متخبّية وراء الأبحار
قالو النّاس، فيها صبيّة
عليها زين، سرّ و خنّار
قصد طريقه، عزم النيّة
ما يروّح كان بكحلة الأشفار

يحلم قدّامو تعدّات
خطفت قلبو للّاة لبنات
بايت يحسب في الأيّامات

باش يوصل لبلاد بعيدة
متخبّية وراء الأبحار
قالو النّاس، فيها صبيّة
عليها زين، سرّ و خنّار
قصد طريقه، عزم النيّة
ما يروّح كان بكحلة الأشفار



English Translation

A faraway Land

With him, outside the door,
He said his farewells to loved ones, and him they adore.
Dark, handsome, a real knight, one cannot ignore.

He heard about a faraway land,
Hidden behind the seven seas.
They say, there is a young lady there,
Fair, mysterious with stories.
And so he left with intent to follow the affair,
And with the raven-eyed beauty he will return from those territories.

A faraway land, with a long trail,
He rode horses, and in boats he would sail.
Sleepless, day and night, he becomes frail.

Alone he travelled to a faraway land,
Hidden behind the seven seas.
They say, there is a young lady there,
Fair, mysterious with stories.
And so he left with intent to follow the affair,
And with the raven-eyed beauty he will return from those territories.

He dreams of her passing by his way,
His heart, the fairest of them all, sweeps away.
He counts the days left to stay.

Until he arrives to a faraway land,
